Day 76: One Sugar Cube Too Many
In their flat in Mikołów, near Katowice, Kaja (A), seven, asks her mother Ilona (B), who speaks Silesian at home, about a new photo stuck to the fridge.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.

It's an ultrasound scan, sweetheart. Those two little beans are a baby boy and a baby girl: come spring, there'll be three of you kids at home.

The stork doesn't know which one's for the journey: he sees two, so he brings two babies. And your dad and I are both as happy as little kids.

And where are they going to sleep? They won't fit in my room, that's where all my unicorns live.

Yay! Then the boy will be Olaf and the girl Elsa. And I'm not putting anything else on the windowsill, or a third one will come flying in!
