   Lidka, we've got two chairs left and one armed conflict. Zdzisiek and Marianna haven't spoken since the studniówka, our pre-finals ball, in seventy-six.

   Half a century of silence is nothing. In Diplomatic Protocol I used to seat delegations that hadn't spoken to each other since the war at the same table.

   Then I signal to the DJ and everyone hits the dance floor. The Congress of Vienna danced more than it negotiated too, and Europe somehow survived.

    Well, it is Zdzisiek. They've been together for six months, they just kept quiet because they wanted to see how we'd seat them first.
