Day 145 of 163

Day 145: A Taxi to the Gym

In Mińsk Mazowiecki, a man in a tracksuit (A) gets into a taxi and tells the driver (B) where he's going.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Dialogue

Audio recordings are on the way. For now, each lesson is the dialogue with its English translation.

  1. A

Dzień dobry. Do siłowni na Sportowej, poproszę.

Good afternoon. To the gym on Sportowa Street, please.

  2. B

Na Sportową? Przecież to trzy minuty piechotą.

Sportowa Street? But that's three minutes on foot.

  3. A

Wiem, ale trener mówi, że przed treningiem nie wolno się męczyć.

I know, but my trainer says you mustn't tire yourself out before training.

  4. B

A po treningu? Też pana podwieźć?

And after training? Shall I drive you back as well?

  5. A

Oczywiście. Po treningu to już nic mi się nie chce, nawet chodzić.

Of course. After training I can't be bothered to do anything, not even walk.
