Day 190: Thirty Kinds of White
At a paint shop in Zawiercie, a young man (A) who is moving out of his rented flat asks the shop assistant (B) for help.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

We've got about thirty whites. Which one did you have on the wall?

Zwykłą. Właściciel odda mi kaucję, tylko jeśli kolor będzie ten sam.
Just ordinary white. The landlord will only give my deposit back if the colour's the same.

Identyczną da się dobrać. Albo przyniesie pan kawałek starej farby, albo zgadujemy.
We can match it exactly. Either you bring in a chip of the old paint, or we guess.
