Day 8: Diet Boxes, Wrong Address

In the flat they share in Białystok, Paulina (A) tells her older sister Monika (B) what has happened to her diet meal delivery.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    Can you believe it, my diet meals were delivered to the wrong address again!

    Znowu? To pewnie zostałaś dziś bez śniadania.

    Again? So I suppose you were left without breakfast today.

    Bez śniadania, obiadu i kolacji. Za tysiąc dwieście złotych miesięcznie!

    Without breakfast, lunch or supper. For twelve hundred złoty a month!

    Może pora nauczyć się gotować? Nasz piekarnik jest używany jako szafka na garnki.

    Maybe it's time to learn to cook? Our oven gets used as a cupboard for pans.

    Bardzo śmieszne. Obiecali mi, że reklamacja zostanie rozpatrzona w ciągu doby.

    Very funny. They promised me the complaint would be dealt with within twenty-four hours.
