Day 63: It's Not the Mushrooms
In the newsroom of a news website in Suwałki, junior reporter Adrian (A) brings his editor-in-chief, Wojciech Borowski (B), a science story for the front page.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

A thousand pensioners, followed for ten years. Three quarters of the mushroom pickers are still alive, and not quite half of the rest.

As far as I know, it's the healthier ones who go mushroom picking. Sick people don't go tramping round the forest at the crack of dawn.

The authors allowed for that: they compared people in similar health. But the competition has had it on their front page since this morning.
