Day 69: The Youngest in the Building
At a pharmacy in Chełm, Mrs Janina (A), a retired regular, comes to the young pharmacist, Krystian (B), with prescription codes for her neighbours.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.

I'm seventy-six, which makes me the youngest in the building. The Sikoras on the ground floor are both over ninety.

Takich klatek w mieście przybywa, dlatego od marca leki samotnym seniorom będą przynosić wolontariusze.
There are more and more buildings like that in town, so from March volunteers will be bringing medicines to older people who live alone.

And I'm supposed to lose my excuse for dropping in? Mrs Jadzia has three children in England, and only me here.

A volunteer in her seventies? All right, as long as they assign me to my own building, because Mrs Jadzia won't open the door to a stranger.
