Day 197: Honey on the Doorstep
Outside their houses in OÅ‚awa, a man (A) stops his neighbour of many years, Mr Mietek (B), who has not spoken to him since the weekend.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

Because everyone was in the garden. You can't hear the doorbell from there.

I thought you'd changed your mind. I left a jar of honey on the doorstep and went home.

So the honey was from you! If you'd rung my mobile, I'd have come out to get you.
