Day 74: Twenty Years of Experience
In the family kitchen in Siedlce, Martyna (A), who works in a café while she looks for a proper job, goes through job adverts with her older brother Marcin (B).
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
- Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
- Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.
Dialogue
Audio recordings are on the way. For now, each lesson is the dialogue with its English translation.

A
Znowu to samo. Nikt nie zatrudni osoby bez doświadczenia!
Same thing again. Nobody will hire someone with no experience!
-
B
Pokaż. O, tu nie trzeba doświadczenia: „Szukamy testera łóżek”.
Let me see. Oh, you don't need experience for this one: "Bed tester wanted."
-
A
Testera łóżek? Czyli co, będę spać w pracy?
A bed tester? What, so I'd be sleeping at work?
-
B
No co? Śpisz najdłużej w całej rodzinie.
Why not? You sleep longer than anyone else in the family.
-
A
Bardzo śmieszne. Ale płacą więcej niż w kawiarni.
Very funny. But it pays more than the café.
-
B
Widzisz? Twoje dwadzieścia lat doświadczenia w końcu się przyda.
See? Your twenty years of experience will finally come in handy.
