Day 98: Nobody Bothers Me Now

At a software company in Rzeszów, Olek (A) tries to get the attention of his coworker Michał (B), who has his headphones on.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    I've been calling you for five minutes. What are you listening to?

    Niczego. Słuchawki zepsuły mi się w poniedziałek.

    Nothing. My headphones broke on Monday.

    To czemu ciÄ…gle je nosisz?

    So why do you keep wearing them?

    Bo w słuchawkach nikt mi nie przeszkadza. Nowych już sobie nie kupię.

    Because nobody bothers me when I've got headphones on. I'm not buying myself new ones.
