Day 141: Quieter Than Any Student
One morning in late September, at an estate agent's in Bia艂a Podlaska, Helena (A), an eighteen-year-old who has just got into university, asks the agent, Albert (B), about renting a room.
How to study this lesson 3 steps
- Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.

A shared room is fine, as long as the landlord accepts my tortoise.

That's where it gets harder, because landlords usually don't want pets. Not even ones you can't hear.
