Day 70: The Same Surprise Twice

At a small travel agency in Puławy, Edyta (A) tells the travel agent, Daria (B), about the trip she is planning for her silver wedding anniversary.

How to study this lesson 3 steps

    Dzień dobry. Na srebrne wesele chcę zabrać męża do Lizbony i na Maderę.

    Good morning. For our silver wedding anniversary, I want to take my husband to Lisbon and Madeira.

    Do Lizbony polecą państwo z Warszawy, natomiast na Maderę dopiero stamtąd.

    You'll fly to Lisbon from Warsaw, but to Madeira only from there.

    Czyli trzy loty. I wszystko w sekrecie przed mężem, aż do samego lotniska.

    So three flights. And all of it kept secret from my husband right up until the airport.

    Muszę jednak panią uprzedzić, że wczoraj był u nas pan, który planuje identyczną niespodziankę.

    I should warn you, though, that a man came in yesterday who's planning exactly the same surprise.

    Identyczną? Też Lizbona, Madera i srebrne wesele?

    Exactly the same? Lisbon, Madeira and a silver wedding too?

    Tego zdradzić nie mogę. Ale nazwisko miał takie samo jak pani.

    I can't tell you that. But he had the same surname as you.

    No tak, Jurek! Czyli na lotnisku to ja będę udawać zaskoczoną.

    Of course, Jurek! So at the airport, I'll be the one pretending to be surprised.
