Day 72: Wednesdays Off for Chess

In the hardware shop on the ground floor of their block of flats in Stalowa Wola, Mr Zenon (A), a retired steelworker who lives upstairs, asks the owner, Lidia (B), about the notice on the door.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    I am, but only part-time. And you'd still like to work?

    Sitting at home, I'm dying of boredom. The only thing is, I play chess on Wednesdays.

    O tej z ogłoszenia plus dziesięć procent. Na narzędziach znam się jak mało kto.

    The one in the notice plus ten per cent. Few people know tools like I do.
