   Grandma, give me a quarter of an hour, I have to send off a review. The deadline's at midnight, and the journal has already reminded me twice.

   Laptop out over the cabbage rolls? What sort of job is it that you can't even eat in peace on a Sunday? And how much are they paying you for it?

   Wydawnictwo. Naukowcy piszą za darmo, recenzują się nawzajem za darmo, a potem uczelnie płacą albo za publikację, albo za prenumeratę, żeby móc to przeczytać.

   The publisher. Scientists write for free, review each other for free, and then universities pay either for publication or for a subscription so they can read it.

   And who's going to stop me? Write this: 'I hereby kindly inform you that the reviewer is suspending work until her remuneration has been settled.' That's how we used to write to the management.
