Day 175: Two Tickets to Spodek

One winter evening in their flat in Siemianowice ÅšlÄ…skie, a father (A) notices that his grown-up son (B) is holding two tickets for an esports final at the Spodek arena in Katowice.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.

    Idziemy obaj, tato. Udało mi się kupić dwa bilety na wielki finał.

    We're both going, Dad. I managed to get two tickets for the grand final.

    A co ja mam tam robić przez pięć godzin? Klaskać, jak ktoś kliknie myszką?

    And what am I supposed to do there for five hours? Clap whenever someone clicks a mouse?

    Kibicować, jak w czternastym roku na siatkówce. Szalałeś tak, że nie dało się ciebie stamtąd wyciągnąć.

    Cheer, like at the volleyball back in 2014. You went so wild there was no getting you out of the place.

    Bo nasi zdobyli mistrzostwo świata. To był prawdziwy sport, a nie chłopaki w fotelach.

    Because our lads won the world championship. That was real sport, not boys in armchairs.

    To czemu zdarza ci się oglądać ich rozgrywki w nocy? Telewizor wszystko pamięta, tato.

    Then how come you sometimes watch their matches at night? The TV remembers everything, Dad.

    Z nudów. Nie obraź się, ale bilet na finał kupiłem sobie już w listopadzie.

    Out of boredom. No offence, but I got myself a ticket for the final back in November.
