Day 177: A Thermometer from the Seventies
At a pharmacy in Kolbuszowa, an elderly woman (A) brings the young pharmacist (B) a bag of expired medicines to hand in.
How to study this lesson 3 steps

Good morning. My granddaughter told me not to throw expired medicines in the bin.

Słusznie, bo z kosza trafiają potem do gleby i wody. Tabletki proszę tutaj, a pudełka do papieru.
Quite right, because from the bin they end up in the soil and the water. Tablets in here, please, and the boxes in the paper bin.

A termometr? Rtęciowy, jeszcze z czasów Gierka, i nie wiem, dokąd z nim iść.
And the thermometer? It's a mercury one, from back in Gierek's day, and I don't know where to take it.

Tego niestety nie przyjmę, to odpad niebezpieczny. Trzeba go zawieźć do PSZOK-u.
I'm afraid I can't take that, it's hazardous waste. It has to go to the PSZOK, the local waste collection point.
