Day 57: The Woman in the Third Photo

In the office kitchen of an insurance company in Zielona Góra, Jolanta (A), who has worked there for twenty years, notices what her new colleague Klara (B) is looking at on her phone.

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    Klara, sorry for peeking. Are you looking for a flat?

    Od trzech miesięcy. Przy rosnących cenach okazje znikają w jeden dzień.

    For three months now. With prices going up like this, bargains are gone within a day.

    A to, które pani ogląda? Dwa pokoje, okna wychodzące na park.

    And the one you're looking at? Two rooms, windows facing the park.

    Idealne, tylko trochę za drogie jak na moją zdolność kredytową.

    It's perfect, just a bit too expensive for what the bank will lend me.

    Niech pani spojrzy na trzecie zdjęcie. Ta pani podlewająca kwiaty na balkonie to ja.

    Take a look at the third photo. The woman watering the flowers on the balcony is me.

    Pani sprzedaje? To może dla koleżanki z pracy znajdzie się jakiś rabat?

    You're the seller? Then maybe there's a little discount for a colleague?

    Dla koleżanki na okresie próbnym? Wrócimy do tematu, kiedy dostanie pani stałą umowę.
