Day 61: Whoever Sells More

Behind the counter of an ice-cream parlour on the market square in Kazimierz Dolny, where they have summer jobs, Oskar (A) makes a suggestion to his classmate Nadia (B).

How to study this lesson 3 steps
  1. Read the situation under the title. It says who is talking and how they know each other, which decides how politely they speak.
  2. Read the dialogue line by line with its translation, until every line makes sense. Point at (or tap) a Polish word to see what it means.
  3. Spend at least 30 minutes listening to native Polish, for example from the Resources page. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it yet.

    The boss says what counts is what the customer sees.

    And does the customer see someone spending half the shift chatting with girls who just take up a table?

    You've got a problem with girls from our class? They were promoting us on Instagram!

    Szefowa widzia艂a t臋 reklam臋 na monitoringu. Od jutra ty myjesz maszyn臋.

    The boss saw that promotion on the CCTV. From tomorrow, you're the one cleaning the machine.
